    How to use

    1. Step 1Fit the air shut-off valve and quick-connect, then attach the compressor hose.
    2. Step 2Mix the texture to a smooth consistency and fill the hopper.
    3. Step 3Choose a tip, test the pattern on scrap board, and adjust the air.
    4. Step 4Spray in even, overlapping passes and rinse the hopper and tips when you finish.

    How much compressor does a big hopper gun need?

    This gun asks for more air than the smaller Homax model: a compressor of 2 hp or larger that delivers at least 7 cfm at 25 psi. In return you get a 5 liter hopper, so you refill less often on a ceiling or a long run of walls. The gun is aluminum, with a large pistol grip and a trigger lock that lets your hand rest.

    Three spray tips, 4, 6 and 8 mm, cover knockdown, orange peel, splatter and heavy splatter, plus popcorn ceiling texture. The hopper takes dry mix you blend yourself or ready-mixed texture. The box also holds a 1/4 inch quick-connect fitting and a shut-off valve for the air line, so you can hook the gun straight to your compressor hose.

    Before you start

    An aerosol texture can is under pressure and its propellant burns: keep it away from open flame and heat while you spray, air the room, and do not leave a can in a hot car or a sunny window. Sanding the patch first raises fine dust, so wear a dust mask and catch it on a drop cloth.
