    For best results

    • Look at your ceiling up close first, so you know how coarse the match needs to be.
    • Have an older ceiling tested for asbestos before you disturb the texture around the repair.
    • Keep the room aired out while you spray, and do what the label says.

    How to use

    1. Step 1Repair the drywall under the patch and let it dry before you spray.
    2. Step 2Shake the can well and try the spray on cardboard held above you.
    3. Step 3Spray the patch in bursts, building texture until it matches the ceiling around it.

    Matching popcorn that is not made of polystyrene

    Not every popcorn ceiling uses the same chips. Some were sprayed with polystyrene, others with perlite or another aggregate, and the bumps look different up close. Homax Pro Grade Popcorn Ceiling Texture is made to imitate all of those, which helps when you are unsure what your ceiling was sprayed with in the first place.

    It comes in a 14 oz can with an ergonomic grip for work overhead. Homax rates it at four times the coverage of a standard popcorn aerosol, and faster than a traditional gun and hopper. Use it on patches and repaired sections of a ceiling, and paint after it dries if the rest of your ceiling is painted.
